Distal Creator's Agreement
Version 1.0 (Effective as of Jan. 01, 2025)

This agreement allows creators ("Licensees") to produce, distribute, and profit from content compatible with the Distal Roleplaying Game System ("Distal"), subject to the terms below.

By using this license, you agree to the latest version's terms.

1. License Terms

• You may create and sell original content compatible with Distal without need for royalties.

• You may reference specific mechanics or concepts from Distal but may not reprint or reproduce the rules or other proprietary content.

• Use of Distal trademarks, art, or logos is restricted to assets provided in the official Distal Creator’s Kit found here: https://creators.playdisrpg.com

2. Attribution and Trademarks

• Your work must legibly include the following attribution statement on the cover or first page:
  "This work is compatible with Distal, a trademark of Witchdraught LLC. This content is unofficial and not endorsed by the creators of Distal."

• You must also legibly include the license version number under this statement, e.g., "Licensed under the Distal Creator's Agreement, Version 1.0."

3. Title and Branding Restrictions

• You may not use the term "Distal" or any trademarked term in the main title of your product.

• However, you may use the phrase "Compatible with Distal" or similar in a subtitle, on the cover, or within the product description to indicate compatibility.

• Trademarks, logos, and other protected terms may only be used as permitted by assets provided in the official Distal Creator’s Kit found here: https://creators.playdisrpg.com

4. Amendments and Updates

• This agreement may be amended or updated at any time.

• Licensees are required to comply with the most recent version of this agreement, available at: https://creators.playdisrpg.com

5. Revocation of License

• This agreement can be revoked by the Licensor at any time for any reason. Upon revocation, you must stop distributing your work immediately.

6. No Approvals Required

• You do not need prior approval to publish. However, we encourage you to submit a copy of your work to the Licensor for cataloging and promotional purposes at: hey+distalcreators@witchdraught.com

7. Creator Ownership of Supplementary Works

• Creators retain full ownership of the original content they develop under this license. This includes all text, artwork, and other creative elements, except where explicitly derived from or referencing Distal intellectual property (IP).
• No third party, including Witchdraught LLC, may copy, distribute, or resell your work without your express written consent.
